Well…I don’t know about you, but my Thanksgiving was FANTASTIC! I started whipping up the Thanksgiving goodies on Wednesday night, as we hung out with friends at Brandon’s.
I made tuffing (Pioneer Woman‘s Cornbread Stuffing recipe, mixed with some suggestions of ingredients from my future mother-in-law,) as well as Cherry & Pear Pie. Pear Pie is one of my favorites! I much prefer it to apple. Here’s the original recipe from Food & Wine if you want to give it a go.
Thanksgiving morning started with French Press coffee and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Don’t you just love the nostalgia of the parade?! I do!
We started off at my parent’s house, for dinner with my immediate family, where we filled out bellies with the yummiest of traditional Thanksgiving meals, followed by a game of Taboo. (Taboo is always a riot with my family, and this time was no exception to that rule.)
After we were good and full, and my team got their butt kicked, Bran and I headed up to his parents for dessert and Pictionary (where my team, again, got served a good whoopin’ – Second year in a row the boys beat us! We’ll get ’em next year, ladies!)
After dessert, we snapped some photos, and gathered in the Great Room to join in an acoustic Worship set led by my beautiful MOH/Seester/BFF & friends.
I have to say…this was probably the coolest thing ever. Gathering with the people you are thankful for and praising the God from which all blessings come. Nothing cooler than that peeps. Best Thanksgiving ever!
But…the fun doesn’t stop there. Not only did I get my Black Friday on, and get most of my Christmas shopping done, but we also gathered together Saturday night for the Annual White Lights Celebration at The Broadmoor! (Colorado Springs version of the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting)

The Broadmoor is pure ambiance, and truly sweeps you away into a whole new world. It was tons of fun spending the night surrounded by such beauty, with some of the most beautiful people I know.

And…lastly, if you need a fix for your sweet tooth, but don’t want to pack on any additional Holiday pounds (atleast until Christmas)then here‘s a shockingly good, and low cal, brownie recipe by Jillian Michaels. Ringing in at only 86 calories per serving, you can’t go wrong baby! Bran even liked them, before I told them they weren’t packed with bad stuff, haha. They are super moist, more like a cake than a brownie really, but are honestly good and virtually guilt free. Hope you all had a good Holiday weekend, and are all ready to start Rockin’ Around The Christmas tree! :)
