With Valentine’s Day right around the corner (tomorrow, actually) there’s still a bit of time to get in the kitchen and whip up some sweet little things for the ones you love. Here are a couple of easy enough recipes to showcase your love to your sweetie’s sweet-tooth.
Brown Sugar Blondies:

1 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/8 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt1/3 cup butter1 cup packed brown sugar1 egg1 tablespoon vanilla extract1 cup to 1 1/3 cup M&M’sPreheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and set aside. Melt 1/3 cup butter. Add 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar and mix well. Cool slightly. Add egg (beaten) and vanilla and blend well. Add flour mixture, a little at a time, mixing well. Mix in 2/3 cup M&M’s. Spread in 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Sprinkle 1/3 to 2/3 cup M&M’s on top. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Store in airtight container at room temperature

I also made these Valentine treats for my girlfriends, & packaged them in individual treat bags, for a girl’s movie night a friend hosted. I ended up missing the movie night, as I came down with a stomach bug…but I heard they went over well 🙂
Rice Krispies Treat Recipe

3 Tbsp Butter
4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
6 Cups Rice Krispies
Melting Chocolate
Valentine’s Sprinkles
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. 2. Add Rice Krispies. Stir until well coated.3.
Using buttered wax paper to evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x
2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Use heart shaped cookie cutter to cut into heart shapes.
4. Melt chocolate and dip either corner of heart into melted chocolate. Decorate with sprinkles and let cool on wax paper.
