This post is going to be a bit longer than I usually like, but there’s lots to cover!
This has been a whirlwind of a weekend! You may recall the Father Daughter Dinner Dance that I previously mentioned to you, well it finally arrive this weekend. Thousands of Daddies & Daughters dressed to the nine’s arrived for a night of dining and dancing with one another. It is pure joy to watch them!
On top of helping with the dance on Friday and Saturday, I had a photo shoot for an upcoming bridal company on Saturday. The ladies behind the company saw my dress and loved it so much that they asked me to be a part of their shoot. What an honor! They specialize in vintage styling and bridal rentals, and they just have the cutest stuff! Their name is Darling Briar and I’m so excited to share them with you! For a sneak peak of the shoot, visit Caitlin Alysse Photography.
If you follow me instagram, you’re already aware of my bad-gone-good hair day that happened while preparing for this shoot. Having curly hair can be wonderful because most days it literally takes me about 30 minutes to do my hair. It’s kind of a double edged sword though, because my curls tend to have a mind of their own. Saturday, was one of those unpredictable days; and, in an attempt to try to fix my curls, I kept putting in product after product leaving me with a flaky, crunchy, product-filled ‘do that was anything but bridal! With only an 1.5 hours before I had to leave for the shoot, I frantically called the nearest downtown hair salon for help.
I rushed over and 30 minutes later voila!
Now, onto the look. Brandon likes to call this my “Mortal Combat” jacket. He says all the belts remind him of the game. So it’s become our little inside joke. By the way, remember my birthday boots? Well here they are! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to put them on here, but I’ve been wearing mostly ankle boots this season, so haven’t had a chance to bust out the OTK’s too often. I love them though, and even though they were a splurge, I definitely think I am going to get my money’s worth out of them.
I don’t love these pictures because of all the cars, etc in the background, but like I said this weekend was a complete whirlwind and we had like 5 minutes to break away and take these shots. Sometimes a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
