Fall is in the air! At least for me it is. I literally had to wear a puffer vest to take Kygo for a walk the other morning. It’s August, people. August!!! Even if it’s still hot in your neck of the woods, fall is nearing, whether you like it or not. (But, let’s be honest. You kind of like it.)
One of the first things I start stocking up on during fall is denim. I can honestly wear jeans year round without overheating, so it’s important to me to have lots of options. I can’t even begin to tell you how many skinny jeans are piled in my closet, but something I’ve been exploring with lately are flares, like these ones from Tommy Bahama. We are certainly bringing back all sorts of era’s into the fashion forefront, and this 70’s style is at the top of the list. They have a vintage feeling, but a flattering modern fit. The mid rise top hugs those love handles in, and the stretchy Lycra material makes for a super soft and stretchy fit.
Today, I styled a day-to-night look, using these flares. When it comes to day-to-night looks, I like to keep it simple. Think girl-on-the-go needs a quick outfit change for a post-errand happy hour. A simple change of shoes and accessories can completely transform your look, with minimal effort.
I kept the top and jeans the same for each look, but chose a hat and sandals for my day look. I traded out the hat and sandals for heeled sandals, and a few pieces of jewelry – these earrings and this bracelet.
