Diving back into my Springs Favorites series today to share one of my absolute favorite places to work out in the Springs – Cycology Studio.
Cycology is a high energy, music bumpin’, ride-to-the-beat spin studio, locally owned, here in town. I have never been one for cardio, but I quickly became completely addicted to it, for the intense workout and intoxicating energy found in each class. Best of all, each class is only 45 minutes – perfect for the girl-on-the-go, like me. I just love that I can get in and out and have time to get on with my day. They are located downtown, too, so it takes me like 5 minutes to get there.
Historically, I can be pretty lazy when it comes to working out. I just find myself getting bored, or making excuses as to why I don’t need to go. (Anyone else with me?!) I’ve been going to Cycology since they opened in October, though, and still continually find myself engaged and even challenged.
Things to know:
If you are a first timer, don’t get frustrated. We were all in the same boat as you in our first class. It’s hard to get a rhythm with the beats sometimes, and that’s ok. Just keep coming back, and after 3 classes you will feel much more comfortable.
The bikes are clip-in style, but don’t worry, you don’t need to have your own shoes. You can borrow some from the studio before class.
Bring water, but don’t drink too much. (I’ve learned the hard way, with a few vicious side cramps!)
You ride out of the saddle the whole time – which means we don’t ever really sit down. I brought a few new people with me that were surprised to find that out, so just know your bootie is up and out of that saddle and you are working!
You will have off-days and that’s ok. Don’t give up! (I took about two weeks off due to travel and a cold, and have had a hell of a time getting back into the swing of things!)
Investment – Classes are a little pricey, but to me, completely worth the investment. As I get older, I have been taking my health more and more seriously and it’s important to me to have a lifestyle that keeps me active and in shape. When you find something you love, it’s worth it to commit to it, in my opinion.
If you are in the Colorado Springs area and want to Get CYCed with me, let me know! I’d love to go with you!
Thank you to lululemon Colorado Springs for the gear.

Riding an exercise bike is one of my favorite ways to stay in shape. I have one at home, but I would definitely like to take a class like this in the future. Exercising with other people would motivate me much more.xo, mikéla / simplydavelyn.com
