I absolutely love wearing jumpsuits. They are one of my favorite pieces to throw on before heading out the door, because they are one of those effortless pieces that you can throw on without a second thought. No rummaging through the closet racking your brain trying to piece things together – just grab and go!
I’m willing to splurge a little on jumpsuits, like I did here, because they are really a two for one piece. It’s a little more than I usually spend on clothing, but I’ve always worn it several times, and can see it transitioning well into fall, by just pairing it with an oversized denim jacket or cardi. (By the way, did you see my favorite cardigan from the Nordstrom sale is restocked in a ton of colors and sizes? Don’t miss your chance to snag it! It’s already selling out again.) When it comes to splurge pieces, consider the PPW (pay-per-wear) and if you know it’s going to be in heavy rotation, go for it. If the PPW isn’t enough to convince you that you should be investing in a good jumpsuit, there are 4 more reasons below.
1. Jumpsuits are comfortable to wear. Typically, jumpsuits are loose fitting and forgiving. They don’t hug too tight around the legs, and aren’t restrictive. They can feel really more like a playsuit, allowing you to be adventurous, all while looking chic. And, if you tend to get a little thigh-rub when you wear dresses, jumpsuits can be a great alternative
2. They are flattering – for all shapes and sizes! Truly, no matter what your size, you can find a jumpsuit that flatters you. I especially love this one, because it is uber flattering. In fact, the sole reason I purchased it, is because it made me look thin. LOL A girl’s gotta do, what a girl’s gotta do…
3. They can be dressed up or down. Some jumpsuits come on the dressier side than others, but pretty much all have the potential to be dressed up or down, depending on footwear and accessories. Take this one, for example. It lends itself nicely to casual and dressier occasions.
4. Instant cool factor. If you walk in a room with a jumpsuit on, you’re likely to command attention. “Is it a dress?” “Is it pants?” “I don’t know…” You’ll leave the crowd wondering, but they’ll be wondering about you. If you are looking to leave a lasting impression, reach for a jumpsuit instead of a dress for your next event. And don’t forget your power walk, ladies.
I don’t know if you noticed, I was playing around with some new photo settings last night. What do you all think? I switched up how I use the shadows and highlights, and added a bit more contrast and clarity. I would love your feedback! Do you like these images, or you do you prefer the brighter look I usually do?
I linked to a ton of jumpsuits below, including this one, which comes in a few colors.
