Well now that Halloween is over we can all focus on the more important Holidays, like Thanksgiving and Christmas! Aside from summer, this is most definitely my favorite time of year. My parents always did such a great job of making this season super special for me as a kid, and it’s something I cherish today, as an adult. I’m a sucker for sentiment and nostalgia, and this season is full of both.
I know so many bust out the Christmas decor and music as soon as the clock turns 12 on November 1, but my mom always had a rule that we had to wait through Thanksgiving to celebrate anything Christmas, and I keep that tradition today. (Ok, ok…perhaps there’s the occasional Christmas song that creeps into my car before Thanksgiving, but that’s it!)
Speaking of Thanksgiving, I see this outfit working so perfectly for it! Thanksgivings are usually really long days for us, since we start with family lunch and then roll into the evening with a friendly battle of boys vs girls Pictionary. I crave to be comfy due to the length of the day, but also…hello turkey and pie. Comfy jeans are a must, and an oversized sweater never hurt either. 😉
I love the combo of black and brown for fall, and this brown sweater is going to be in heavy rotation! It’s oversize enough to go great over my favorite leather leggings – which are always a great way to take a regular jeans/sweater look to the next level. The jeans I’m wearing here have been my tried and true for over 4 years! They are currently only available in the crop version – which I have heard is perfect for petite gals. 100% worth the investment, as you’ll wear them all the time and they fit like a glove, without being too tight/restricting. The non-holey version is currently available too.
