Colorado winters are long. Don’t get me wrong, we get our fair share of warm days and I’m definitely not complaining considering what’s going on in the midwest right now, BUT we barely even have a Spring, and when we do, it’s usually mixed in with snow days all around it. Still, I crave cute Springy fashion this time of year. Who doesn’t? I figured some of you all might be in the same boat, so today I wanted to share some inspo on how to style a spring dress when it’s still cold outside.
I’ve been working my way toward a more neutral wardrobe and steering clear of pastels this Spring, but I am trying to incorporate softer spring fabrics like chiffon and lace. Still, the weather doesn’t always cooperate and I find myself relying on layers to bundle up in. Turns out, my favorite Fall layering jacket is working double as my favorite Spring layering jacket, too.

I recently picked up this chiffon dress, which I love for a chic work outfit. I layered it with this wool jacket, and my favorite OTK boots (currently 40% off!) to create a chic transitional look – with all the 70’s vibes.
Guys, I’m off to Seattle this morning and I’m so excited! We are staying like right above the market and I can’t wait to explore everything. Be sure to follow along on Instagram, and if you have any suggestions for places to eat or things to do, drop them in the comments below!
That dress is so pretty! I can see why you wanted to style it for cold weather! I'd want to wear it right away too! Enjoy Seattle!Jill – Doused in Pink
Haha right?! I love it! And thank you!! It was fun!
I've always had trouble styling spring or summer pieces in the colder months because I always feel like I pick completely different colour palettes for the two main seasons so nothing ever goes together but you've done it really nicely, it doesn't even look like there's something there that doesn't belong in this season hahaMarta – http://www.aroundcolours.com
Aww thanks so much girl! It's hard to get creative with our Spring pieces sometimes for sure!
OTK boots really solves a lot of styling problems in winter. Fabulous ensemble you have here dear! Jessica | notjessfashion.com

That is so nice! It's been cold here but bearable! Happy friday!
I feel your pain and I love your tip. I've found myself wearing my OTK boots a LOT lately here in New England because it's just too cold to have legs exposed! I'll have to find a more casual wool coat to pair with it! Enjoy Seattle! My husband and I are Seattle-to-New-England transplants and Seattle is still one of my favorite cities!
