Honestly how tf is it July? I mean…I know years always seem to go by quickly, but I am in true shock that it’s already July. This year has been such a whirlwind! Besides that, the weather is really JUST starting to act like it’s summer and we’re pretty much halfway through it. I can’t even. I literally crave warm days and anything less than 87 degrees between the months of June-August is truly unacceptable. Get your sh*t together, mother nature, mmmkay?
We have been in the house for a little over two weeks now, and although I still have boxes and boxes of home stuff to sort through and put away, I’m starting to regain some sense of normalcy. (Except for the fact that my body won’t let me sleep past 5:30am lately. Ugh.) Brandon came down the other morning and just laid straight on the couch, and we realized that was the first time he has just got up and not gone straight to work in over 6 months. I don’t think we even know how NOT to be doing something anymore. I laid down on the couch for 30 minutes the other night and felt bad for not doing something around the house. I mean, it’s crazy. I’m riding a fine line between burnt out and unable to quit and I’m basically all out of sorts. So ready for our Italy vacay, I can’t even tell you. Luckily, we were able to take a couple days away, up in Denver, for the 4th/our anniversary. It’s a tradition we’ve done often, usually alongside our besties. I just love getting away for a little pool time up there, and the fireworks are always so amazing from downtown! We spent our anni in Cherry Creek doing some shopping for Italy, stopped by Ikea for some house stuff and then headed up for some low key take out and wine. It was the perfect day. We really got a full four day weekend to plug out and it was amazing.
Speaking of Italy, I will definitely be taking this little number with me. I picked up this dress a few months ago and it quickly became a closet fave. I have worn it so many different ways – with heels, sandals, tennies, but this way has to be my fave! A knotted tee over a slip dress is such a fun way to add diversity to your summer wardrobe. (And if you haven’t added this white tee to your closet yet, you totally should. It’s been my fave for years!) I’m all about pieces that I can wear over and over again, and accessorize to maximize their use, and this dress is at the top of that list. (Psst…I sized up to a medium and it fits perfectly.)
By the way, my favorite Zara cowboy mules are currently on major sale!
Cute skirt dear! I like how you styled the shirt too.
